Policy objective
Bitbegin maintains controls designed to prevent the platform from being used for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, fraud or other unlawful activity.
The program is risk-based and may include customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, recordkeeping and reporting.
Customer verification
Users may be required to provide identity information, documents, address details, business information, source-of-funds evidence or other supporting materials.
Bitbegin may refuse onboarding, limit services or suspend access when verification is incomplete, inconsistent, suspicious or legally restricted.
Monitoring and screening
Accounts, logins, deposits, withdrawals and trading activity may be reviewed using internal rules, third-party tools, blockchain analytics and sanctions data.
Activity involving high-risk jurisdictions, sanctioned parties, darknet markets, fraud, mixers, stolen funds or unusual transaction patterns may trigger additional review.
Suspicious activity
Bitbegin may request additional information, delay a transaction, reject a withdrawal, restrict an account, close an account or file reports with competent authorities when required.
Users must not attempt to split transactions, disguise ownership, provide false information, use nominees or bypass verification requirements.
Recordkeeping
KYC records, transaction data, compliance reviews and related communications may be retained for the period required by applicable law, regulation or internal risk policy.
Records may be used to support investigations, audits, regulatory inquiries, dispute resolution and platform security.
User cooperation
Users are expected to cooperate with compliance requests and provide accurate information within the requested timeframe.
Failure to cooperate may result in limits, suspension, account closure or inability to process deposits, withdrawals or other services.
